The aim of this course is for students to develop advanced knowledge and understanding of current issues and research into classroom assessment - assessment types and their application - and how assessment informs curriculum and instruction; change and improvement. The course will also focus on the application of a series of standards and research-based criteria, in evaluating a program/unit of instruction at the school level. The course will also develop student skills in designing and implementing research-informed, performance-based assessments, piloted in school, and critiqued in class.
