reflection on CURR622 Course

This course enabled me to develop advanced knowledge and understanding of current issues and research into classroom assessment - assessment types and their application - and how assessment informs curriculum and instruction, change, and improvement. The course focused on applying a series of standards and research-based criteria in evaluating a program/unit of instruction at the school level. The course was a great chance to develop student skills in designing and implementing research-informed, performance-based assessments, piloted in school, and critiqued in class. Also, Classroom assessment is crucial to understanding learner progress and performance. Internationally, the field of Education has witnessed significant advancements in research-informed assessment and evaluation of curriculum and instruction.

This course enhanced my reflection skills on the programs/units they teach and evaluate performance on some standards and research-based criteria – one criterion is assessment results.  This course also aimed to increase knowledge, application, and reflection on assessment and program/unit evaluation for teachers and would-be leaders in Education.
